PowerSchool is a web-based student information system. It provides educators the information they need to make timely decisions that impact student performance while creating a collaborative environment for parents, teachers and students to work together. PowerSchool provides features needed by administrators at the district and school level in addition to portals for teachers, parents, and students.
PowerTeacher is the component of PowerSchool used by teachers. Classes, rosters, student demographic information, grading periods, standards, rubrics and grades scales are automatically loaded. As teachers use PowerTeacher, all data flows back to your central database in real time, providing all stake-holders, including parents and students with instant visibility to assignments, scores, grades, comments and progress toward each standard. Currently, OLSD is using the following PowerTeacher features:
- Attendance management, tracking and notification: Elementary, Middle, High
- Seating chart formats with student photos: Middle, High
- Access via iPad®: Elementary, Middle, High
- Discipline management and reporting: Middle, High
